There he assisted in the up-building of a national Christian movement on college campuses that spanned the U.S.  Such Universities were Princeton, University of VA, University of MD College Park, Spellman, Morehouse, Virginia Commonwealth Univ., Virginia State University to UNC Chapel Hill, Winston Salem State, Hampton University and numerous other HBCUs in between, of which he was personally instrumental in reaching over several thousand college, high school, and middle school students.

 

While a student at North Carolina A & T State University, Howard met Tecla Sanders a fellow student matriculating in the field of Electrical Engineering, and devoted Christian within the same campus fellowship. 

 

In the summer of 1993, he also served as a lead missionary to Isabella Puerto Rico, while Tecla also instrumental on mission tours to St. Lucia, Mexico City, Mexico, and Isabella, Puerto Rico. While on the mission field, Pastor Sanders witnessed scores of people give their lives to Christ, receive physical healing in their bodies, and countless lives transformed through prophetic preaching and teaching.

 

In recent years, Pastor Sanders has been instrumental as a pastor that brings churches together. He is avid member of the Fellowship of Metro Atlanta Churches with Pastor Woodrow Walker, committed to bringing revival and relevancy back to our communities –along with other local Atlanta pastors. He is a committed member of Kingdom Agenda Pastors under the direction of Dr. Tony Evans, and integral in four successful church plants as an associate minister in the cities of Charlottesville and Virginia Beach, VA, Raleigh, NC, and Marietta, GA, before the launch, as lead pastor, of Become Church - Kennesaw, GA.

 

After meeting and knowing Tecla for 16 years, and serving alongside her in ministry full-time for 9 more years, Howard married his beautiful and supportive wife, Tecla in 1996 where they continued to serve faithfully together in ministry at Destiny Metropolitan Worship Church during its formative 5 years where Pastor Sanders served as the Maturity Pastor and was responsible for the discipleship and maturation of members.

 

In 2001, God planted Howard and Tecla as faithful Singles and Lifenet Pastors within Trinity Chapel.  After serving faithfully for several years in December 2004, God began to call them to plant a church in Kennesaw in 2005, of which they would pioneer as the Lead Pastor. Pastor Sanders received a blessing from his local church, Trinity Chapel, while serving as a life net and singles pastor.  God fulfilled that call as they prayerfully and publically launched Become Church in Kennesaw, GA three years later (2008).  Having started with only each other, their four children, and a desire to see the name of Christ made famous; out of their home, God empowered them to do just that!

 

Pastor Sander’s primary mission is to reach the lost and unchurched families of the Metropolitan areas of Atlanta and beyond with practical teaching, vibrant worship and relevant ministry that transcends  multicultural lines. His heart is: preach the Word uncompromisingly, promote authenticity, and provoke believers to possess a real hunger for revival.  As Senior Pastor of this dynamic church, he is not only thankful for what God is  doing, but also for the journey that has brought him thus far!  God has blessed him with a beautiful supportive wife of 26 years in home and ministry, Tecla. Together, God has blessed them with four beautiful children, Howard III, Leon, Alexis, and Ariana.
